New Zealand is a country surrounded by water.

In the unlikely event of an engine failure over water, the pilot can activate the emergency pop out floats. These floats, which are attached to the skid landing gear, will inflate with compressed nitrogen in approximately 3 seconds. The pilot is then able to fly the helicopter during autorotation to a controlled touch down on the water. In calm to medium sea conditions the helicopter will remain upright allowing the passengers to safely disembark. A helicopter without a flotation device will roll upside down immediately and sink.

We recommend passengers wear their life jackets.
